Mahindra Bolero Pickup: India’s leading vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has introduced a new variant of Bolero in its light commercial vehicle category in the market. The LCV has been introduced in the 2 to 3.5 tonne range priced from Rs 7.68 lakh to Rs 7.87 lakh (ex-showroom) pan-India. Mahindra and Mahindra Limited Senior Vice President, Venkat Srinivas said the vehicle is manufactured at the company’s facility in Chakan near Pune, with ‘significant investments’ going into the product development. “The vehicle is designed for intra-city application.. We have 43 per cent market share in two- 3.5 ton segment in the southern region. We want to increase it…” he told reporters.
According to a company official, the total industry volume comprises 8,000 units in the southern region in the 2 to 3.5 tonne category. Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, Zonal Head Sales (South), Baneswar Banerjee said there is the possibility of introducing new products into this platform, with much better payload, but declined to elaborate. The Bolero Max Pick-Up comes with a payload of 1,300 kg, offers 1,700 mm wide cargo in this segment and R15 tires for better loading.
Responding to a query, Venkata Srinivas, who is also the Head-Product Development, Commercial Vehicles, Automotive Division, said that the vehicle will offer a service interval every 20,000 kms, warranty of three years or one lakh kms, iMaxx technology along with several features including comes with Offers customers comfort, security and savings.

The vehicle is offered in three variants priced at Rs 7.68 lakh for the base model, Rs 7.72 lakh for the mid variant and Rs 7.87 lakh for top-end, he said.
The company has tied-up with many financial institutions and the vehicle was available with a low down payment of Rs 25,000.
